2010 Winter Victory Tournament!

Great competition!

The 2010 Winter Victory Tournament was a great success!

One hundred and twenty eight of our students and instructors from Sioux Falls and Brandon competed on Saturday. All six rings ran steady and on time from 9am until early afternoon. Many had the opportunity to compete and judge for the first time and everyone handled themselves very well and demonstrated great sportsmanship.

Competition is a lot like promotional testing in that regard. You learn a lot about the strength of something when you apply a little pressure to it. The ability to maintain your focus and integrity in a situation is a valuable skill and one that requires a great deal of practice.

On that note, we'd like to extend a special thank you to all of our students and parents. All of our competitors represented themselves the right way in competition and that says a lot about your character. We had an especially great group of parents on the floor with us all day taking photos and cheering everyone on. That sets an important example to our students and we appreciate that.

The competition at all ranks was very good all day. We had several particularly great sparring matches. Good combinations and great control. We have a fearsome young group of headhunters out there that are pretty handy with their kicks. We saw some excellent weapons forms as well.
Great job to everyone on the work you've been doing!
